Paris Koh Fine Arts is proud to present "Younhee Paik: Recent work and Book Signing". The show will run from Jan. 28 - 31, 2020, with an Opening Reception with Book Signing on Friday, Jan. 31, from 5:30 -8 PM.

After Younhee Paik's solo exhibition at Whanki Museum in South Korea in 2019, a catalog and essay book containing her work notes and artworks was published. We are pleased to present Book Signing with the most recent huge painting ‘Wildfires’ and her six works between 2002 to 2012. These works will be the first to be introduced in New York.

Younhee Paik’s previous works were composed of deep pictorial colors and images of four-dimensional symbols coexisting in one screen. This gave the audience a sense of floating in another world, leading to a tranquil but intense feeling. Her recent huge work ‘Wildfires,’ consisting of eight aluminum plates, confronts individual wildfires that lie somewhere in our lives with intense colors and extensive energies. A small human figure amid the blazing flames is trying to keep her away silently by ignoring the strong fires while the small stars floating in the sky express her unfading passion and perseverance throughout adversity. Even in the midst of life’s most difficult journeys, we can still move forward as long as we have hope.

Younhee Paik graduated from Seoul High School of Music and Art, She earned her B.F.A at Seoul National University and moved to the United States, where she received her master's in Fine arts at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1973. She currently continues her artistic journey based in San Francisco, New York, and Korea, interacting with worldwide audiences through her unique experimental composition and expression.
