Redefining Contemporary Beauty: Dong Yeoun Lee

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Gallery d’Arte, 548West 28th Street, Suite 328, New York City is proud to present Redefining Contemporary Beauty: Dong Yeoun Lee. This exhibition will run from March 1 - 15, 2017with Opening Receptions on Thursday, March 2nd, from 6-8PM.
Dongyeoun Lee’s women figures are much like her self-portraits that analyze the reflection of her inner beauty and feelings. Her beauties, contemporary females are wearing Korean traditional costumes Hanbok, which represents going back-and-forth between the past and the present in Korea. As the viewer gets closer to her work, there are soft-edged shapes that work with a static and soft color palette. For this exhibition, the viewer encounters Lee’s new works in which the artist intentionally keeps a space on the long-length panels to show the aesthetics of blank space.
Lee earned her Ph.D. Certificate, MFA, BA from HongIk University and had a solo exhibition at Gallery d’Arteand Shiva Gallery, John Jay College last year in New York.
