Paris Koh, located at 509 West 23rd Street, Ground Floor, New York City, proudly presents Point of Convergence: An Inaugural Exhibition, featuring Ran Hwang, Jose Camacho, Michelle Chu, Joohyun Kang, Sooyeong Lee, Heejung Kim, Mikyung Kim, JongSook Kang, Pam Cooper, Taerim Kim, Daru Junghyang Kim, Gianluca Bianchino, Jinistar, INYoung, Heesoo Kim, Gao Yuan, bongjung Kim, Elisabeth P. Purcell, Bill Pangburn, Daehak Oh, Michael Park. Curated by Paris Suechung Koh, the show will run from Sept 1st through 21st, 2026 and be celebrated with an opening reception on Thursday, September 3rd from 6-8PM. The exhibition brings together fifteen artists whose practices encompass diverse approaches to painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, and conceptual inquiry.

As the inaugural exhibition of the gallery’s new space, Point of Convergence marks both a beginning and a meeting point. The exhibition brings together artists of different generations, cultural backgrounds, aesthetic languages, and artistic sensibilities, creating a dynamic field in which difference becomes a source of dialogue rather than division.

The title Point of Convergence refers to the moment when seemingly distinct paths intersect. Each artist arrives at this exhibition from a different direction, shaped by individual experiences, histories, and ways of seeing. Yet within the gallery, these divergent trajectories come into proximity, allowing unexpected relationships to emerge between works. A gesture in one painting may resonate with a form in another; an exploration of memory may encounter an investigation of space, identity, materiality, or perception. The exhibition does not seek to impose a single theme upon these practices, but instead allows connections to develop through their coexistence.

At the heart of the exhibition is the idea that contemporary art is not defined by a singular visual language. It is a space of encounter—between the personal and the universal, tradition and experimentation, material and idea, memory and the present moment. What brings these artists together is not sameness, but the distinctiveness of their individual voices and the possibility of dialogue among them.

In this sense, Point of Convergence also represents the vision of Paris Koh as it opens a new chapter in New York. A gallery is more than a physical space for exhibiting art; it is a place where artists, ideas, cultures, and audiences meet. This inaugural exhibition establishes that space as an open platform for exchange and discovery, inviting viewers to consider not only what separates one artistic practice from another, but also what becomes possible when those differences are placed in conversation.

Point of Convergence is therefore both an exhibition and a beginning—a gathering of diverse artistic voices at a particular moment, in a particular place, and a point from which new conversations can unfold.
