Paris Koh Fine Arts(201 Bridge Plaza North, Suite 1, Fort Lee, NJ) is Pleased to present a group exhibition “Converging Perspectives: Costas Picadas, Studio Jinistar, Jeanne Brasile, Hobong Kim, Harold Wortsman, BoKyung Woo,  Josh Urso,  Kirkland Bray, Kim Bricker, JongSook Kang”.

The show will run from August 6 to 27th, 2025, with an Opening reception on Friday, August 8th from6-8 pm.

Converging Perspectives brings together a diverse assembly of artists whose practices emerge from distinct experiences, mediums, and conceptual frameworks. While each work originates from an individual vision, their coexistence within this exhibition space creates a dynamic field of intersections. Here, differences do not clash; instead, they align and converse, forming new patterns of meaning. The exhibition proposes that when multiple perspectives converge, they reveal not only the richness of their individuality but also the unexpected harmonies that arise from their union.

 

 

Costas Picadas, a Greek-born artist based in New York, fuses medical science with nature through hyper-real prints, projections, and paintings. His works, featuring golden organs, microscopic patterns, and organic forms, explore the interconnectedness of life and the healing power of nature and art.

Studio Jinistar’s UFO: Unidentified Flying Object presents a deeply personal exploration of gender, identity, and freedom. Through symbolic imagery such as the butterfly and flower, the works reflect the artist’s journey toward self-acceptance and authenticity, inviting viewers to embrace diversity and inner transformation.

Hobong Kim reimagines New York City through figurative paintings that blend urban scenes with the iconic image of Astro Boy, symbolizing his Asian identity and feelings of alienation. Combining personal narrative with cultural commentary, his works explore themes of belonging and the layered experiences of an Asian artist in America.

Harold Wortsman is a Brooklyn-based sculptor and printmaker whose work merges ancient cultural echoes with contemporary abstraction. Working primarily in fired clay and printmaking, he explores space and form through improvisation, creating pieces that embody both freedom and clarity. His works are held in major public and private collections in the US and Europe.

New Jersey-based artist Bo Kyung Woo blends Korean folk art traditions with innovative techniques, using coffee filter paper as her medium. Her work reflects a deep longing for Korea, celebrating the resilience, creativity, and heartfelt wishes embedded in Korean cultural heritage.

Josh Urso is a Jersey City–based sculptor who transforms concrete and stone into monumental forms that merge geometric structure with organic disruption. Inspired by geology, urban flux, and the inherent beauty of imperfection, his work reflects on environmental fragility and the tension between stability and transformation.

Kirkland Bray is a Jersey City-based painter and mixed-media artist whose work often combines found materials with surreal landscapes crowded by peculiar masses of people. Influenced by Dada, he transforms discarded elements into dynamic collages and paintings that explore beauty, humor, and societal commentary.

Kim Bricker is a Jersey City-based printmaker who creates abstracted landscapes using layered monotype techniques. Her work explores the passage of time, memory, and humanity’s connection to the natural world, emphasizing the need for environmental awareness and preservation.

JongSook Kang is a Korean-American ceramic sculptor based in New Jersey, whose career spans over four decades. Educated in Korea and the U.S., she has exhibited internationally in venues such as the Hammond Museum, Bratislava Museum, and Tong-In Gallery. Her work has been critically reviewed by leading art publications and critics, including Richard Vine and Dr. Thalia Vrachopoulos.

Jeanne Brasile, a New Jersey-based artist and curator, creates mixed media works inspired by her recent travels to Finland, Delhi, and Jaipur. Her art explores the materiality and structure of paper, drawing from natural systems and microscopic forms. Her recent mixed media works reflect abstracted imagery of phenomena like ocean currents, and cellular structures.

 

Together, these ten artists invite us to engage with a rich spectrum of creative inquiry—each perspective distinct, yet interconnected within the shared space of the exhibition. Converging Perspectives encourages viewers to reflect on how diverse artistic voices can coexist, challenge, and enrich one another, ultimately revealing new meanings and unexpected harmonies born from their convergence.

그리스 출신 뉴욕 기반 작가 코스타스 피카다스(Costas Picadas)는 의료 과학과 자연을 결합한 하이퍼리얼 프린트, 프로젝션, 회화를 선보입니다. 금빛 장기, 미세 패턴, 유기적 형태를 통해 생명과 자연, 예술의 치유력을 탐구합니다.

스튜디오 지니스타(Studio Jinistar)의 ‘UFO: Unidentified Flying Object’는 성별, 정체성, 자유에 관한 개인적 탐구입니다. 나비와 꽃 같은 상징적 이미지로 자기 수용과 진정성을 향한 여정을 표현하며 다양성과 내면 변화를 환영합니다.

김호봉(Hobong Kim)은 뉴욕시의 거리 풍경을 아스트로보이 이미지와 결합한 회화로, 아시아인으로서의 정체성과 소외감을 재해석합니다. 개인 서사와 문화적 논평을 통해 소속감과 이중적 경험을 탐구합니다.

브루클린 기반 조각가 겸 판화가 해럴드 워츠만(Harold Wortsman)은 고대 문화의 메아리와 현대 추상을 융합합니다. 주로 가마에 구운 점토와 판화를 활용하며 공간과 형식을 즉흥적으로 탐구하는 작품을 만듭니다. 미국과 유럽 주요 컬렉션에 소장되어 있습니다.

우보경(Bo Kyung Woo)은 한국 민속 예술 전통과 혁신적 기법을 결합해 커피 필터지를 매체로 사용합니다. 한국에 대한 깊은 그리움을 표현하며 문화적 유산에 깃든 회복력과 창의성, 간절한 바람을 담아냅니다.

저지시티 기반 조각가 조쉬 어소(Josh Urso)는 콘크리트와 돌을 거대 구조물로 변모시키며 기하학적 구조와 유기적 파괴를 융합합니다. 지질학, 도시 변동성, 불완전함의 미를 영감으로 환경의 취약성과 안정과 변화의 긴장을 반영합니다.

뉴져지를 기반으로 활동하는 화가 겸 혼합 매체 작가 커클랜드 브레이(Kirkland Bray)는 발견된 재료와 초현실적 풍경을 결합해 독특한 인물 군상을 표현합니다. 다다 영향 아래 버려진 요소를 역동적 콜라주와 회화로 변환해 아름다움, 유머, 사회적 논평을 탐구합니다.

판화가 킴 브리커(Kim Bricker)는 층층이 쌓인 모노타입 기법으로 추상적 풍경을 창조합니다. 시간의 흐름, 기억, 인간과 자연의 연결을 탐구하며 환경 인식과 보존의 필요성을 강조합니다.

뉴저지에 거주하는 한국계 미국인 도예조각가 강종숙(JongSook Kang)은 40년 넘는 경력을 지니며 한국과 미국에서 교육받았습니다. 햄몬드 박물관, 브라티슬라바 박물관, 통인 갤러리 등 국제 무대에서 전시했으며 리차드 바인, 탈리아 브라초폴로스 등 주요 평론가들의 평가를 받았습니다.

뉴저지 기반 작가 겸 헌터돈 미술관장 진 브라질(Jeanne Brasile)은 최근 핀란드, 델리, 자이푸르 여행에서 영감을 받아 혼합 매체 작품을 제작하고 있습니다. 그녀의 작품은 종이의 물성과 구조를 탐구하며, 자연 시스템과 미시적 형태에서 영감을 받습니다. 최근 작품들은 해류와 세포 구조와 같은 현상을 추상화한 이미지를 반영합니다.

 

이 열 명의 작가들은 각기 독특하면서도 전시라는 공유된 공간 안에서 서로 연결된 다양한 창작 탐구의 스펙트럼에 우리를 초대합니다. Converging Perspectives는 다양한 예술적 목소리들이 공존하고, 도전하며, 서로를 풍요롭게 할 수 있음을 관객들에게 성찰하게 하며, 그 수렴에서 비롯된 새로운 의미와 예상치 못한 조화를 드러냅니다.
